Eingeschränkte Bewegung zwingt Pflanzen zu rascher Reaktion
Saarbrücken (pte015/07.07.2011/12:05) - Pflanzen können ebenso wie Menschen unter Stress stehen. “Der Begriff Stress ist in der Pflanzenforschung auch sehr geläufig”, sagt Petra Bauer, Professorin für Biowissenschaften und Pflanzenbiologie an der Universität Saarland. “Ich nenne alle Faktoren, die negative Auswirkungen auf das Pflanzenwachstum und Zellvorgänge haben könnten, Stressfaktoren”, erklärt die Wissenschaftlerin im pressetext-Interview. Das sei alles Teil des normalen Lebens einer Pflanze. “Das ist beim Menschen letztlich nicht anders, nur sind die Anpassungen bei Mensch und Pflanze eben unterschiedlich, die Stressfaktoren häufig jedoch dieselben sind wie bei Pflanzen”, sagt Bauer.

CITIES is a research unit for urban observers and explorers around the world. Through events and exhibitions, research projects, publications and case studies, CITIES provides an open, independent and accessible platform for discussion, debate and action.

Vielen ist es bereits bekannt: am 28.4. startete Avaaz die Kampagne zum Erhalt pflanzlicher Arzneimittel, deren Zugang massiv erschwert werden soll. “……Wir haben das Recht, uns die Heilmethoden und Arzneimittel, die uns und unsere Familien gesund erhalten können, selbst auszusuchen.” Die Unterzeichnung der Petition unterzeichnen ist noch möglich.

Die Forschungsanstalt Agroscope hat erstmals eine anbaufähige Sorte der Anti-Stress-Pflanze Rosenwurz gezüchtet. Dafür forschten Wissenschaftler auch in Graubünden.
